Man arrested, second sought
Richland County Sheriff's deputies arrested one man and are seeking another during an investigation into two separate incidents in which two people were held against their will Thursday.
Both victims were injured but neither was hospitalized after the 8 a.m. incidents.
Brian Johnson, 33, is wanted after deputies say he forced his wife to stay inside a car he was driving after dropping their children off at school.
The couple is going through a divorce and Johnson got into an argument with her, punched her and pulled her hair and shirt, deputies said.
He parked the car on Kelly Mill Road, then ran when someone approached the couple to ask if everything was all right, deputies said.
He has been charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and kidnapping.
Police say Johnson is black, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.
Johnson has no criminal record in the state, State Law Enforcement Division records show.
In a separate incident, Christopher Rabon, 22, of Blythewood, is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and malicious injury to personal property.
Deputies say Rabon broke into his ex-girlfriend's car, hid inside, then punched her in the face several times when she came near.
Rabon forced his ex-girlfriend into the white Nissan four-door outside her Columbia home, her mother told deputies.
The ex-girlfriend broke off the relationship Wednesday night, deputies said.
She was found in Fairfield County about 11 a.m. and Rabon was arrested shortly after, deputies said.
His criminal record includes convictions for possession of a stolen pistol, assault and battery with intent to kill, and second-degree burglary, SLED records show.
